Liberia Flag Seafarer Endorsements & CDC – Official Filing

Amara Maritime supports clients in processing Liberia flag seafarer endorsements and CDCs through Liberia's online application system, operated via registered filing agents. We help ensure your documentation is submitted correctly and promptly, whether you're applying for employment on Liberian-flagged vessels or as a non-Liberian seafarer.

 

Liberia Application Process & Turnaround

All endorsement and CDC applications are submitted electronically. The typical processing time ranges between 2–4 weeks, though a Certificate of Receipt of Application (CRA) can be issued at the time of submission upon request.

Application Types for Liberia Flag

There are two types of applications accepted under the Liberia flag:

 

Application Types for Liberian-Flagged Vessels

If you are applying to serve on a Liberian-registered vessel, you must submit an authorization letter from either the vessel owner or the technical manager. This letter must:

  • Detail the vessel name and IMO number

  • Authorize Amara Maritime to act on the owner's behalf

​

Once submitted, the Liberia Maritime Authority will verify the vessel's details and allow the application to proceed.

Applications for Non-Liberian Vessels

Applicants working aboard non-Liberian vessels may be eligible for an 18-month ungraded Liberian Seaman Book, depending on documentation and employment context.

Requirements for Liberia Officer Endorsements

  • Completed Officer Application Form

  • Completed Liberian Medical Form

  • Recent passport-sized colour photo

  • Valid passport (copy)

  • Certificate of Competency (CoC)

  • Supporting STCW certificates

  • Copy of CDC

Requirements for Liberia Rating Applications

  • Completed Ratings Application Form

  • Completed Liberian Medical Form

  • Recent passport-sized colour photo

  • Valid passport (copy)

  • CoC (if Watchkeeping rating)

  • Supporting STCW certificates
